Human being has been on earth for about 100,000 years or so. Our physiology and digestive systems are near about the same as they were at that time; they are still developed to eat what our ancestors ate. That is a diet that is rich in fruit and vegetables and food that is mostly unrefined, unprocessed and didn't contain dairy. Dairy products are not a natural food us. We have only been using dairy for a couple of thousand years, our bodies are not designed to digest it very well. The milk from cows or any other animal is to feed the new born offspring of that species while they grow and become strong. After a period of time the young animal will be weaned and no longer will get milk from its mother. Humans are the only species that still drink milk throughout their adult life.
Dairy food shouldn't be considered a natural food for humans. When consuming dairy you may not get any ill effects, but it will still be taking toll on your body. Many countries with high dairy consumption have higher percentages of people that have problems with their bones such as osteoporosis. Countries that have lower consumption of dairy have better bone health. Consuming a lot of dairy your body will take alkaline minerals from your bones and other places in your body to naturalize the acid forming affects of dairy products. There are numerous studies that illustrate this point, but the dairy industries deny this fact and work to keep the truth quiet.
Having dairy as part of your Crohn's Disease diet can be a real issue when you have an allergy to it. When you have an allergy to dairy and continue to consume it this can make your Crohn's Disease symptoms worse and anything natural you use for Crohn's Disease may not have any affect.
One of the most powerful tools you can use to help get your health back on track is diet. Eliminating dairy when you have Crohn's Disease can help you to achieve that goal. There are alternatives that you can use instead of dairy, for example you can use rice milk instead of cow’s milk. Soy milk is best avoided due to the negative effects it can have on your health.
